Zendaya came to slay! That’s exactly what she’s doing on the July issue of Vogue magazine. And not just that, this girl is spitting knowledge. Read what made me shake my head, inside.
Zendaya may just be 20 years-old but she’s been hustling since the young age of 14. So, over time and with parents who are down for discipline, she’s learned a few things.
A lot of people don’t realize their power. I have so many friends who say yes to everything or feel like they can’t stand up for themselves in a situation. No: You have the power.
Zendaya better get her life! How on-point is she?! I know so many people (unfortunately) that haven’t taken hold of their power. But that’s none of my business. An example of the actress running the show? Well, she not only changed the name of her current Disney sitcom… but her character also.
Apparently, before K.C. Undercover was called just that, executives named it Super Awesome Katy. “I was like, ‘The title is whack. That’s gonna change. Do I look like a Katy to you?’” Zendaya said.
Aside from changing the show’s name, she also wanted to make sure her family was of color. Annnddd that her skills included things boys did. You see, Disney executives also wanted Katy to sing and dance but again, Zendaya was like ‘nah, I want her to do karate.’ She better werk!
The RnB singer stars in Spider-Man Homecoming, her first major motion picture! Later this year, her second movie, The Greatest Showman, premieres in theaters. Zendaya plays a trapeze artist alongside Zac Efron.
At just 20 years-old, I can already tell that we’re about to see a whole lot more from her.
