Towanda Braxton and her husband Andre Carter have reached a divorce settlement after battling it out in court and on television. Details inside.
The couple separated in 2014 after 12 years of marriage. Towanda has been documenting her divorce on the current season of her reality show, Braxton Family Values.
Last we left off is Andre wanted the three homes she’s purchased and full custody of their two children. In other words, he was tripping. According to Us Weekly the settlement was in Towanda Braxton’s favor with her receiving joint custody of the kids, waived alimony support and no child support.
During season two of Braxton Family Values, Towanda made Andre out to be a broke, low-down husband. But, in actuality he quit his job to take care of their children because she was constantly flying out to perform on-stage with her sister Toni Braxton. If you watched last week’s episode, you saw the couple meet at a bar and that’s when Andre gave Braxton a mouth full, telling her their kids are always asking where mommy is and she’s never around for the important moments, hence him wanting full custody.
Glad they worked that out. The icing on the cake is Towanda can now legally change her name. After watching two Braxton sisters battle divorce on television, I know I will never get married in the state of Georgia. First off, they want you to go to counseling before you file. Who does that?! If I want to get divorced, nobody should try and stop me.
Season six of Braxton Family Values should be even more interesting now.
