Thong jeans, yup, it’s a thing. The runway really shouldn’t surprise me anymore but I can’t say I ever thought I’d see this style down the runway. Details inside.
ScoopWhoop reports that Tokyo designer, Meiko Ban, revealed Thong jeans during his runway show for Tokyo Fashion Week. So, what are these exactly? Well, it’s literally strands of denim held on by a zip fly and top button closure. Thong jeans take ripped and distressed styles to an entirely new level. Who were these designed for? Well, if you have stretch marks on your thighs, I don’t recommend wearing them.
Some things are better left unseen.
If you have cellulite or thighs so thick they’ll stick out of the seams, these are not for you. And before you get mad at me, remember that skinny women with no booties shouldn’t wear bodycon dresses ie not everything is meant for everyone. And, before we give Meiko Ban all this credit for creating this style, let’s not forget the original Thong jeans designed by either FUBU, Kimora Lee Simmons or some other urban designer back in the day.
