Roseanne, my favorite ’90s television sitcom, is coming back on-air! That’s right, the legendary Roseanne, herself, along with John Goodman, Sara Gilbert and Laurie Metcalf. In case their real names confuse you, Dan, Darlene and Jackie will be retuning. I wonder what’s up with Becky?
Deadline reports the 8-episode series will be produced by the same men who executive produced the ’90s episodes: Tom Werner, Barr and Bruce Helford, Gilbert and Whitney Cummings.
The ABC network is in talks to air the show. It seems they’re looking for something that better depicts the average American family. Roseanne was about a hard-working, lower class couple with three children and not much money saved. And let’s not forget the ever-incredible sister Jackie. Man, her Laurie Metcalf’s acting was amazing.
“Oh, hell yes … if we could get everyone together,”John Goodman said while a guest on The Talk. His TV daughter, Sara Gilber was the co-host and she said about the revival, “I would. Your only fear is you don’t want to do a bad version, because you don’t want to damage what’s been done.”
Roseanne was on-air for nine seasons. I stopped watching around season five. It just wasn’t as funny after they won’t the lottery. Maybe, because they weren’t poor and struggling anymore.
