The Real, a daytime talk show on FOX, has been renewed for two more seasons! I guess they were able to last without Tamar Braxton after all…
The Real premiered on July 15th, 2013. The original cast consisted of Adrienne Bailon, Tamera Mowry-Housely, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love and Tamar Braxton. But, after two seasons and some issues behind-the-scenes, Tamar was fired. When fans found out, the RnB singer’s tamartian friends set out to get the show canceled by spreading negative posts via social media and saying they can’t make it without her. Well, although she may be missed, it’s obvious these ladies are #winning.
Filling the void of Braxton in it’s third season, The Real began inviting celebrity guests. A few names include Monica, Jennifer Lopez and a VERY AWKWARD Kim Kardashion. But, aside from the show’s popular guests, viewers got to see an in-dept look at co-host, Adrienne Bailon’s relatiionship with her now-husband, Israel Houghton. The show even shared part of her wedding.
Season four featured the ladies going live during the show, allowing fans to ask them questions via social media. I like The Real and how diverse the cast is. Tamera Mowry-Housely offers us that portrait of a working mom that’s figuring out how to balance her marriage, businesses and just be herself. Jeannie Mai is always honest, having recently filed for divorce from her husband after he couldn’t come to terms that she doesn’t want to have children (I can totally relate). Loni Love is a thick, single woman that isn’t afraid to get hers and tell us about it. I love her keep-it-real attitude. And Adrienne Bailon, gives us that Latin flair, being the all-around woman in her mid-thirties that’s experiencing so many new chapters in her life.

On one hand, it’s very gratifying to be renewing a program that started as a test. On the other hand, it doesn’t matter how it got here. Warner Bros. set out to fill a void and it fit our audience perfectly. Congrats to the cast and crew.
