Linkin Park Releases Heartfelt Statement on Chester Bennington’s Death

Linkin Park

Linkin Park, man are they going through it? I am still in shock that their lead singer, Chester Bennington, killed himself last week; just two hours after they released a new music video and while they’re currently on tour. Speaking of their tour, the remaining bandmates have released a statement to fans. Read it inside.

After reading the letter Linkin Park released, I realized that they may have seen this coming. An excerpt of the letter reads: “We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal.”

That’s deep and absolutely true. It was Chester’s songwriting about his inner demons and struggles that made us fall in love with the band. I hope that doesn’t sound odd, but we all have battles. And it was Linkin Park’s music that helped a lot of people cope and understand that they’re not the only ones feeling how they feel.

It’s just unfortunate that Bennington lost the battle with his mind.

Although the band wrote a touching goodbye letter, they did not bring up the status of their tour. But, Machine Gun Kelly, who was scheduled to perform with them, told fans on Instagram that all remaining tour dates have been canceled.

We miss you, Chester!

Let's talk about it!
