Lana Del Rey Being Sued By Radiohead For Biting The Melody To “Creep”

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has messed with the wrong band. My favorite band, Radiohead, is suing the folk singer because they feel her song “Get Free” sounds too much like their song “Creep.” I’ve got a mashup inside. Judge for yourself…

The Guardian reports that Radiohead is suing Lana Del Rey for 100% of the publishing royalties. They are not playing around. I can tell you that on my way to work this morning, I heard a DJ say that Radiohead was sued for their song “Creep.” It turns out that a band called The Hollies thought the song sounded like their track, “The Air That I Breath.” Which is why you’ll see the band member’s names credited for “Creep.” You know, if you ever looked. This reason probably being why Radiohead isn’t taking this very lightly. Lana issued a statement via Twitter saying:

It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100.

First, G-Eazy breaks up with her and now this. Okay, so I don’t know who did the breaking up, but I do know that he’s currently dating Halsey.

Did you listen to the mashup? It’s the melody that’s similar. I’m going to have to side with Radiohead on this one.

Let's talk about it!
