Hereditary, an upcoming horror movie that’s getting A LOT of buzz. The trailer dropped about 24 hours ago and people are already calling it the “scariest film in decades.” I’ll be the judge of that!
Ladies and gentleman, here we have the Hereditary trailer from one of my favorite film companies, A24. Apparently this movie was shown at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and those lucky viewers just can’t stop talking about it; hence a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Diving just a bit deeper than the movie’s title, it’s centered around a daughter that’s recently lost her mother. As time passes, she becomes concerned of the evil traits that were possibly inherited, not just to her, but her young daughter.
I love the concept of this film because EVERYONE can relate. Meaning, I’m quite sure that a daughter or son has looked at their parents at least one time in their lives and said, “gosh, I hope I don’t become that way.”
Joshua Rothkopf of Time Out said it’s “a new generation’s The Exorcist.” That makes me think of my mom, because she absolutely HATES the movie The Exorcist. I wonder if I can get her to watch this?
Did you watch the trailer? Are you scared, entertained, anything?
Hereditary stars Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne and is written and directed by Ari Aster. The movie hits theaters June 8th.
