Zoe Saldana is the epitome of beautiful. Whether she’s wearing make up or not, she looks absolutely stunning. Okay, enough fan-girling. Anyway, she’s covering the June issue of Shape magazine. And not only does she look flawless but she reveals her eating regime to achieve the body she has…and I’m taking notes!
Now, Zoe Saldana has never been overweight a day in her life, but we all know that as we get older our metabolism begins to slow down. I know mine has. Having two toddler sons, a newborn, busy movie career and a gorgeous husband to take care of, its easy to have an unhealthy diet due to lack of free time for working out and cooking. But, not for Zoe.
“I can’t work out regularly, so I compensate by eating a lot healthier than I might otherwise.” she said.
I’ve recently been inspired by actress Denise Vasi and her incredibly healthy and clean eating lifestyle. She goes by the 80/20 rule: your diet is 80% food and 20% working out. I was doing the complete opposite, which lead to me gaining more muscle before dropping weight. So, by taking advice from her and Zoe, I’ll be rocking a Zara size 6 in no time…okay, a size 8.
“Once you have relatively healthy eating habits, your workout can become playing with your kids, strolling around the neighborhood, playing airplane, or just changing diapers.” Saldana added. I don’t have kids so I’m trying to eat so clean that my exercise regime can be sitting on the couch watching Law & Order SVU.
So, what do you need to eat to look like Zoe Saldana? “It’s not that I like to eat super light, just super clean. I like food that is fresh. I don’t go for things that come in cans — and I’m losing trust in things that come in plastic.”
What comes in plastic? Frozen vegetables and a lot of processed pastas and such. I don’t eat that anyway. So, no canned foods. No food in plastic bags. I feel the weight coming off already…
