Disneyland really has some explaining to do. Being that this destination was my go-to for celebrating my 35th birthday in January, I guess my plans to visit more often are now out the window thanks to the new admission increase.
I paid $110 when I went to Disneyland last month. Beginning on Sunday, February 11th, admission prices increased in two different categories. A “value day” which is what my day was considered, increased from $110 to $117, for a $7 inflation. Umm, I guess. Then you have “peak” days and that admission price went from $124 to $135 for a $11 increase. Lastly, the $97 value ticket will remain the same.
It seems that prices for children are the same; which isn’t saying much because you need adults to take the kids! The decision to increase prices was done as a way to decrease foot traffic during the busy season. Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said:
We know how important making memories at Disney theme parks is to families and we will continue to evolve our pricing in a way that gives families a range of options to meet their budget and helps better spread attendance throughout the year so they can make the most of every visit.
I guess. A family of three will have to pay $351 just to enter! I’mma need Disneyland to start selling liquor if they’re going to keep increasing their prices. Will you be going to the happiest place on Earth with its fee increase?
