Her persistence and patience landed her the opportunity to live out a dream. Celebrity makeup artist Daniela Rowson spilled the deets on beauty secrets that every woman needs to know. From the hottest makeup trends for the summer season, to what us girls need to start doing to improve our look. Get to know a girl who packed her bags and moved from Utah to Los Angeles in order to make it all happen.
When did you know you were good at putting on makeup?
I don’t remember a time in my life where makeup wasn’t my passion. I remember at a very early age me an my siblings were doing a little music
show for my grandparents and I decided to go as a famous singer, so of course I did my makeup like her and even overdrew my lips to make them look
fuller! They were very impressed my my skills, and that’s when I knew I was good at it!
What is the biggest challenge of your job?
I would say the hardest part would be keeping up with all the amazing new makeup that’s always coming out! There’s so much good stuff out there; it can become overwhelming when you’re that passionate about makeup.
What beauty secret can you reveal that can help EVERY woman?
Please always take care of your eyebrows, professionally if possible. They frame your face and, on days where you don’t wear makeup, if your eyebrows are on point then you can rock that clean face with confidence!
What are the top beauty trends for spring?
Bold, luscious lips! Let’s not be scared of color. Bold lips show confidence and fierceness!
What should women stop doing, when it comes to makeup?
Don’t stick to the same routine! Skin texture, color and makeup trends are always changing, so please always update your look and routine so that your
look is always fresh.
What celebrity would you love to work with?
There’s so many I can’t name them all. I love all different types of celebrities and would love the challenge of making ALL celebrities look the
best they ever have after they’re done with me! 😉
Besides being featured in Vogue magazine, what else do you have in the
I’ve been working with several other projects involving editorial work and celebrity work. I’m also starting to travel to teach one-on-one classes and
master classes starting in May. My work is always unpredictable, though, and there are always surprise projects.
did you break into working with celebrities?
Years ago I was asked to work at Sundance Film Festival in a VIP celebrity suite and word just spread from there.
What advice can you give to aspiring artists that don’t know how to break
through in the industry?
Be persistent and passionate! Also practice on every face possible and don’t give up!

What inspires you to try a new trend?
I first see how it makes me feel at my core and how it affects me visually. If it challenges me in a way that will make me a better artist, I’m all
about trying that trend.
